Last BUILDSTATION of Superteam Philippines, I had the opportunity to showcase and demonstrate some of Wormhole’s feature/technology - Wormhole Connect and Token Bridge.
The session started with @wilguish, the APAC Ecosystem Manager of the Wormhole Foundation since 2022, gave us an introduction to Wormhole, explaining what it is and what is it not, why blockchain interoperability matters and gave us a high-level overview of what you can build using Wormhole. He wrapped up the session by sharing about Wormhole’s Ecosystem Programs including the different grants and hackathons that will encourage builders to check out and see if Wormhole can help them cross multiple chain and open-up endless possibilities
Wormhole Connect
Wormhole Connect is an easy-to-use React component that you can include in your application to enable cross-chain swap. It’s very easy to integrate as it only involves 2 easy steps to get it working.
Step 1. Include the WormholeConnect as a dependency
Step 2. Use the component in your React application
And with those few lines of code, you’ll have something similar to this. (This one has been modified with some custom theme already)
Wormhole Token Bridge
Aside from the Wormhole Connect component, I was able to demonstrate an example from their Wormhole SDK specifically the token bridge example. In this example, we show how Wormhole is used to transfer native AVAX tokens from Avalance to Solana.
You can watch the demonstration of Wormhole Token Bridge in the video below.
Wormhole x Encode Hackathon
Currently, there’s an ongoing hackathon organized by Wormhole and Encode Club, so if your project for Solana Radar Hackathon utilizes Wormhole stack, definitely worth checking and submitting to as well.
Builders from APAC
If you are a builder in the APAC region, I highly recommend joining the Wormhole APAC Builders Group so you can connect with the other Wormhole builders in the region as well. LFG Wormhole!
P.S. Last week I’ve also included Wormhole in the Solana Developer Cheatsheet as part of Cross-chain toolset. Looking forward to share more of Wormhole in the future.
